THE STORY OF INTERTWINED FARMS

Intertwined Farms is a family farm in Johnson County, Iowa located between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, near the Amana Colonies. Having acquired the land in 2019, we are just starting the long term plan for the farm.  The farm is not ideally suited for Iowa’s main crops of corn and soybeans due to sandy soil and rolling hills.  Our long-term goals are based on sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices that incorporate perennial crops, agroforestry, vegetables and rotational grazing of livestock.  Our goal is to grow food, while protecting and nourishing the land.
